Day 1 - 3: Day of Arrival – Lusaka International Airport

On arrival at Lusaka International Airport enjoy a meet and greet service and board a scheduled flight to the Lower Zambezi National Park. Arriving guests may have lunch at Lusaka Airport – flight arrival times and outbound scheduling dependent. The tour arrives at the Royal Airstrip from where guests are met by lodge staff and transferred by safari vehicle to the lodge. This transfer will take approximately 20 minutes. The Lower Zambezi National Park and the adjacent Eastern Chiawa Game Management Area is home to large herds of Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard and Hyena among many other mammal species. Set against the backdrop of the Zambezi Escarpment, known for its dense vegetation, open plains and wide views across the Zambezi River, this is undoubtedly 1 of Africa’s most beautiful wilderness areas. Situated on the northern bank of the Zambezi River, in Zambia, and adjacent Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools World Heritage Site, Baines’ River Camp offers a range of safari activities. The tranquil setting, intimate atmosphere and luxury en-suite air-conditioned Explorer Suites, make this colonial-style safari camp the ideal location for an unforgettable holiday.
Daily activities include river safaris, sunset cruises, fishing (catch and release), canoe safaris, morning and afternoon game drives, night drives and walking safaris. Walking safaris are more comfortable in the autumn and winter months.

Day 4 - 6: Lower Zambezi National Park to Lake Kariba

Enjoy an early morning activity. After breakfast depart by boat and by road for Lake Kariba, in Zimbabwe. The boat transfer berths at Gwabi Lodge from where guests board a vehicle and transfer to Kariba. The transfer will take approximately 4 hours, immigration procedures at Siavongo border-post (Zambia) and Kariba border-post (Zimbabwe) included. The transfer includes crossing the Kariba Dam wall. Guests arrive at the Kariba Marine land and board the luxury Matusadona Houseboat. Acclaimed for its sunsets, wildlife viewing and tiger fishing, Lake Kariba is encircled by the Matusadona National Park. Cruise the shores of one of Africa’s last wilderness areas on the Matusadona, the only luxury motor cruiser of its kind on Lake Kariba. The fully staffed (4 crew), 3-deck vessel, measures 28.6 meters in length and 6.85 meters on the beam. The lower deck includes 3 spacious en-suite, air conditioned guest cabins with queen size beds and accessible via an indoor staircase from the saloon. The middle deck includes a gourmet galley, anal-fresco breakfast nook and an indoor saloon. The indoor saloon includes a dining area and coffee station, a business desk and a lounge complete with DVD player, sound system, a choice of board games and a small library. The upper deck is a spacious open-plan outdoor entertainment area, offering 360 degree views of Lake Kariba. It includes 2 lounge areas, a dining area, the bar and a sundeck with open-air jacuzzi. Daily activities include game viewing by boat, game viewing by safari vehicle in the Matusadona National Park (one complimentary game drive) and fishing.

Day 7: Lake Kariba to Harare Airport

Guests disembark The Matusadona and transfer by road to board a scheduled air transfer from Kariba International Airport or from a private airstrip in the Matusadona National Park to Harare International Airport. Continue with your own arrangements.
